Cold
Sitting on the cold cement sidewalk
She leans up against the slightly warmer brick wall and sighs.
The rain is still pouring down on the streets as it has been for hours.
It’s too warm inside.
She loves the feel of the wind that comes off a cold rain.
After such a long day
She just needs something to distract her mind.
She wants to feel cold inside
She doesn’t want to feel.
Too many emotions course through her bloodstream
and thinking of him makes it boil
Why do we have to play pretentiously?
and suffer though the guilt’s
Why does our pride always get in the way?
I love the icy rain on my face
Caressing my lips as it melts down
I just want something that will take you off my mind
I want to feel cold inside
I don’t want to feel
Too many emotions course through my bloodstream
and thinking of you makes me cry
I sit on cold benches and walk through frozen gardens
I wish I were the same way,
but the fact that I’m only human
Makes me smile.
